Recital Again

Leftovers With Dessert!

Sometimes all the goodness can’t be contained in one box!  Ara had a dual bento lunch, the yellow box had dinner left overs of mashed potatoes, chicken tenders, and a lone grape tomato for red, the red heart box had sliced strawberries with dark chocolate pretzels (YUM).  You might be asking, “what about the vegetables?” to that I say.. didn’t you see the tomato?!  Besides, technically the potatoes are a veggie right?  I have edamame from the frozen section of Trader Joe’s in the freezer that I need to bust out!

Look at that mountain of delicious taters!  I actually forgot to pack a spoon with this bento, no big deal, she used the chicken as a scooper!

Ara has been working so hard on doing a jumping jack, the look on her face when she flings out her arms and legs is the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen.

We went swimming at the YMCA this evening, it was lovely and also exhausting!

I wrote a song this week.  I mean.. I composed a piece!  The guitarist/composer that I’ve been working with encouraged me to give it a try and I am having a blast!  I think it’s pretty good for my first try and I’m excited to hear his feedback at rehearsal tomorrow.  Having music back in my life has just filled in that missing puzzle piece and lately I find myself sighing with contentment.  Not bragging, sometimes you just feel the need to be grateful for life.  We are so happy in our home, Ara is doing so well and growing and healthy, and Alex and I are in a really good place together.  Spring is here, and I’m gushing!  Of course my life isn’t perfect, but I have a lot to be thankful for, so I am.

Spring into bento-making! LOL.

Giant flute

Contra Flute @ TFC rehearsal

In my head though, it is called paper clip flute!

I have a ton of things I want to write about but I don’t have time at this moment. I want to write all about Ara’s Christmas, my birthday, New Years, the exciting new play yard for Ara… the list goes on and on. I did go to the library last night before rehearsal and I checked out far too many books and audiobooks.

  • Joy of Cooking
  • How to Practice The Way to a Meaningful Life
  • Practical Wisdom for Parents
  • Confetti Cakes
  • Eclipe (audio)
  • New Moon (audio)
  • Letter to my Daughter (audio)
  • Harry, A History
  • Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
  • Eragon

(there are a few more but I will stop there, I realize I left out author’s names but I’m pretty sure a google search would reveal all!)

I actually haven’t even finished the Host yet so I am behind in my reading! I feel so rich in life when I have so many books waiting for me!

Quick Ara update:

She loves her new bed.

Lately, she greets other children so enthusiastically she is actually frightening some of them. I’ve told her she should at least ask before hugging and kissing them. She calls every kid she sees “friend”.

We have been having her help with cooking and baking and I even let her help me rinse the dishes. She glows when we include her in such grown up activities.

Today we are painiting her fence and I am late already!
