It has been occurring to me every time I post that I should put something in the pictures to show the scale of my tiny box. Too bad that thought doesn’t follow me to the kitchen! The box I usually use is actually from the Target dollar section. I have a post about it here. And they are pretty small. Smaller than a regular sized rubber maid box. So considering the size constraints I can really pack a lot of food in there! This one was for a light breakfast in the park. The three chicken morsels were leftover from dinner and Alex’s lunch. Other than that it is my usual assortment of fruits and veggies. Ara doesn’t think my apple slices look like bunnies, but she eats them all the same. She actually pretended that everything in the box was meat. Because she is a carnivorous T-Rex people, keep up!
The play date was nice, sometimes I need a little extra motivation to get out in the sunshine. Plus, there is something comforting about returning to regularly scheduled life after the crazy holiday. We met Michelle’s brand new little sister, born days after the last time we saw them. Ara was so cute, she walked up to the stroller and stood in silence for about 5 minutes. She was really interested in the process of the baby being in her Mom’s tummy and then magically being in the stroller. She has been expanding her “life” questions from death to birth now. Yesterday I was grilled on the difference between babies born from eggs and tummies. Sheesh.
While we try to teach our children all about life,
Our children teach us what life is all about.
After thought: I just joined a bento community site called Bento Central. Exciting!
